Well it isn't quite summer yet but it feels like it. We hit triple digits last week. This recent platter is the most colorful one I've done in the mid range porcelain clay. I like to say mid range porcelain since I always believed a true porcelain clay is much higher fired than cone six. It is a nice white, smooth, dense clay I find to be quite workable. As the heat turns the west side of town tan and dry, a little more color provides some refreshment.
